About
Suni Karim is the founder and managing partner of SK Properties Group LLC, a leading commercial real estate brokerage and management firm rooted in Hyde Park, Chicago. Suni’s real estate journey began in 1987 when he obtained his real estate license and started working with office and retail spaces at Matanky Realty Group.
In 1991, Suni took the next step by launching his own brokerage, which eventually evolved into SK Properties Group when it was restructured in 2004.
Suni’s expertise in the industry was internationally recognized in 2005 when he earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, a globally respected credential that demonstrates mastery in commercial and investment real estate. The CCIM designation is awarded to professionals who have proven their knowledge and ability to navigate complex real estate transactions on an international scale.
In 2015, Suni expanded his professional qualifications by obtaining the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation. This certification, recognized worldwide, underscores his capabilities in managing homeowner, condominium, and cooperative associations with the highest level of competence.
Suni’s contributions extend beyond his firm. In 2004, he served on the Board of the Chicago Association of Realtors, playing a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s mission and strategy. In 2007, he led the Commercial Forum committee, focusing on developing best practices for industry professionals. By 2016, he expanded his qualifications further by becoming a notary in the State of Illinois
His recent appointment in 2024 as a commissioner for the Hyde Park Special Service Area (SSA) by Mayor Brandon highlights his ongoing dedication to community enhancement and industry leadership.

Zach Sarvana is a seasoned property management and commercial real estate professional with a deep commitment to affordable housing and community development. His career in real estate began at the age of 14, when he assisted his father with managing a mixed-use building in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. This early experience laid the foundation for a grassroots approach, enabling him to connect with diverse stakeholders and craft solutions that are both profitable and sustainable.
His expertise is highlighted by a proven track record in managing large-scale affordable housing projects, including serving as the Property Manager at Altgeld Gardens, one of the largest public housing complexes in the United States, comprising 2,000 units on Chicago’s Southside. Additionally, he has successfully managed LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) senior housing, Section 42 Tax Credit buildings, and blended occupancy properties, showcasing his ability to navigate complex regulations and deliver results.
A commitment to maintaining the highest standards in property management is further demonstrated by HUD certifications, including TCS (Tax Credit Specialist), EIV (Enterprise Income Verification), and BOS (Blended Occupancy Specialist). These qualifications underscore comprehensive knowledge of fair housing compliance and a dedication to the communities served.
